Bio for Brandon SteeleClick Here for Brandon's Secure Donation Page to the Canadian Cancer Society!First Time at Ironman Canada! As a child I was involved in track and
field as well as a member of the kilometer club for running at lunch hour and
after school. In my teens and early adult life I moved
away from running and focused more on team sports. While I still very much enjoy
my team sports I have found great personal satisfaction and sense of
accomplishment from individual events. With Team Ironcops, I look forward to
combining the challenges of individual competition while working as part of a
great team. In 2002 I took up
distance running again to combat stress and maintain fitness.
I ran my first organized 10 km race and was hooked. I progressed through
a few half marathons before my first full marathon in October, 2005. Three
marathons and one year later while in Never competing in a
triathlon before committing to Ironcops makes Ironman 2008 a momentous challenge
for me. I am excited at the idea of pushing my mind and body to new limits.
Ironcops for Cancer has inspired me to take on this extraordinary commitment. I
have had close friends and family touched by cancer and I feel that Ironcops
provides an opportunity to confront this horrible disease and still allow me to
accomplish new goals and overcome personal challenges. As a member of the
Ironcops team, I am proud to be doing both.
