Bio for Ann ChapelleClick Here for Ann's Secure Donation Page to the Canadian Cancer Society!First Time at Ironman Canada! ![]() In 2003, I watched Cops For Cancer Tour de Rock from the sidelines. I immediately knew I wanted to become involved. It was my first introduction to road riding and to my buddy Michelle, she's in the photo with me, a beautiful young woman, who is creative, talented, a wonderful dancer and a cancer survivor! You can't help but love Michelle and her family. They are amazing! I didn't know Michelle when she was going through her treatments however she and her family shared her story and embraced me in to their family and have been doing so ever since. So, I rode the 600km Tour de Coast for two years in a row and it brought more to me than I could have imagined. I was out there raising funds and awareness for pediatric oncology and Camp Good Times and yet I was the one receiving all these amazing gifts. Courageous families and kids, shared stories and special moments that connect you together in truly meaningful ways. I am a Police Officer and have been with the force since 1998, however I am at a crossroads myself and may not be able to continue with my career due to my own health challenges. And since I have received this news, friends and family have been there for me, lifting me up on the days I can't. I recently participated in this beautiful ceremony and the words of this song rang so true for me... The essence of the song is that: you gotta
humble yourself before every person you know I have no races under my belt, I am however a person who loves a challenge and I have watched these athletes participate in this grueling, inspiring and incredible event that brings people together and in competition, each with their own personal goal, story and reason for doing the event. It's August 1st, 2007 and I started my training today! What are you going to do with your wildness? BRING IT ON!!! |
