1st time at Ironman Canada!

NancyOn September 30th, 2005, we lost a really great woman to cancer. My Mom and my inspiration, Nancy, battled the disease for almost 8 years, and throughout those years she repeatedly told her oncologist that she would do anything/ try anything/ take anything to have one more day with her children.

I am doing Ironcops for Cancer in memory of my Mom so that other Mothers can have just one more day with their children.

We all know someone affected by cancer and this is my way of telling them that they are not alone in the battle. One of my best friends, Big Jon, was Jonrecently diagnosed with testicular cancer. I am happy to say that he fought hard and is expecting his first daughter with his wife Lindsay in October.

I have been with the Vancouver Police Department since November 2005 and I knew from day one that I wanted to be a part if the Ironcops family. I have never done an Ironman before, in fact, I have never done a triathlon before! It is something I have always wanted to do and am looking forward to this upcoming year of training and hard work.

I want to thank all of my family and friends who have been so supportive over the years. You have allowed me to pursue my dreams and for that I will be forever thank full.
